First Attempt

11:49

Should I try it? Should I leave it alone?
The first attempt is always the hardest one, but it's also a step in a new direction. It doesn't matter where you make your first attempt. The important thing is that you decided to try out a new thing and you are ready to dive into it.
It's the unknown factor which makes every first attempt so frigthening. You can't know what will happen when you go through this door. It is a wave of probabilities in which everything can happen.
We in Europe and America have learned to distance ourselves from the unknown, to mark it as a bad thing. This lead to the tremendous amount of fear people are feeling now.
Death is the most frightening thing in our culture because it is unknown for everyone of us. No one came back from the dead and had told us what lies beyond it. This fact that death is not known by us creates this evil and dark picture about dead.
Just think about it. We have created the Grim Reaper as a symbol for death. How sick do we have to be that we created a guy with scythe who comes after us when we are ready to die?
And so it is with the first attempt. It will be pictured as evil and bad, as something which is harmful and frightening. But haven't you always felt this relief after you tried something for the first time or what has frightened you? Haven't you felt this tremendous amount of happiness, this excitement? What about your confidence? Hasn't it improved and made you feel like you are the creator of your own life?
What I want to say is, that stretching your hand out into unknown can sometimes open up a whole new world for you. The universe is not here to scare you and harm you. It is here to realize who you really are. And by the way you are the universe. You are made out of the dust of the dead suns that moved for millions of years through space to end up as the molecular structure of your being.
